CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
The BICSI Winter 2027 Conference will be held 14-18 February 2027 in Orlando, Florida, USA, at the Orange County Convention Center. We invite you to join the confererence as a presenter and share your experiences and expertise to the help shape the future of the information and communications technology (ICT) industry. Members and nonmembers are welcome to submit.


NOTE: BICSI does not pay for expenses, nor offer speaker stipends. Speakers will receive a complimentary conference registration, which includes access to all general sessions, concurrent sessions, awards banquet, and exhibit hall activities.

BICSI is seeking proposals for Pre-Conference Masterclasses, Educational Tours (EduTours), Concurrent Sessions, and Lightning Learning Sessions.

As we lay the foundations for the future of connected technologies, BICSI invites you to submit proposals that offer forward-thinking insights, practical applications, and impactful strategies.
We are looking for content that empowers attendees to advance their work, drive business outcomes, and prepare for the evolving needs of the ICT industry. Your presentation should align with our carefully curated conference tracks that serve as the backbone of connected technologies. This is your chance to contribute to a foundational knowledge base that supports innovation, builds industry resilience, and equips professionals for what’s next.

The deadline for submitting the application form and your original proposal is Friday, 11 September 2026.
 
If your presentation is selected in our initial review, you will be contacted to provide additional information and a copy of your presentation. Completion of a submission does not guarantee acceptance. Incomplete submissions will not be considered for review.

PRESENTATION TYPES
Concurrent (1 hour) and Lightning Learning (20 minutes) Sessions:

  • BICSI will not select content that is not vendor-neutral.

Half-day Pre-conference Masterclass (3 hours):

  • This expanded three (3) hour presentation is ideal for complex subject matters which require more time to explore. Preference will be given to experienced presenters that submit a presentation where the information is timely, relevant, educational, vendor neutral and explore best practices that are applicable to a global audience.

Full-day Pre-conference Masterclass (6 hours):

  • This expanded six (6) hour presentation is ideal for complex subject matters which require more time to explore. Preference will be given to experienced presenters that submit a presentation where the information is timely, relevant, educational, vendor neutral and explore best practices that are applicable to a global audience.

EduTours (off-site educational field trip opportunity):

  • This EduTour offers an opportunity to visit a facility where technology meets innovation. Attendees will witness pioneering minds at work, collaborating in dynamic spaces designed to foster technological advancement as well as cutting-edge applications. The tour will demonstrate the seamless integration of devices and systems, showcasing the power of interconnectedness. Explore how the technological ecosystem is transforming the way we work and offering insights into the transformative power of ICT.
     

PRESENTATION CATEGORIES/CONFERENCE TRACKS:
AI Transforming Business
 –
Leveraging AI to drive efficiency, innovation, and competitive advantage, with significant impacts in sectors such as healthcare for predictive diagnostics and manufacturing for process automation.

  • Key topics:
    • Integration of AI into analytics and project management strategies.

Optimizing Data Centers – Strategies for maximizing data center efficiency and resilience, addressing challenges such as minimizing downtime, optimizing energy usage, and adapting to increasing data demands.

Professional, Career, and Business Development – Focuses on strategies, skills, and resources to support your ongoing professional growth and career advancement in the ICT industry. Whether you're looking to refine your expertise, expand your professional network, or plan your next career move, this track offers valuable insights and practical tools to help you achieve your goals.

    • Developing leadership skills in tech teams.
    • Enhancing communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strategies for transitioning into specialized ICT roles.
    • Managing remote and distributed tech teams.
    • Effective project management and leadership in tech.
    • Business taxes, tariffs, supply chain management.

Wireless Innovations – Innovations driving wireless connectivity and digital transformation, with applications in industries including but not limited to healthcare, manufacturing, and education to improve efficiency and connectivity.

  • Key topics:
    • Evolution of Wi-Fi 802.11 and Li-Fi for high-speed, localized connectivity.
    • Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) for enhanced network performance.
    • Integration of wireless technologies into intelligent infrastructure and smart city systems.
    • Advances in cellular network deployment (macro, micro, pico).
    • Free Space Optics (FSO) and its role in high-speed communication.

PRESENTATION FORMATS
Interactive Panel (60 minutes):
  • Panelists (maximum of three panelists plus one moderator) present case studies from multiple perspectives facilitated by a moderator. Moderator will facilitate formal Q&A or polling with the audience and panelists.

The Solution Room (60 minutes):

  • The Solution Room is where people come together to solve problems and explore solutions to today's challenges. Participants work in small groups using a handout to guide them toward creative problem-solving. Groups present their creative solutions with evaluation and feedback provided by subject matter experts.

Lightning Learning (20 minutes):

  • Short, carefully prepared talks focused on new strategies, processes, or techniques that impact the profession/industry, foster learning, inspire or support personal development. The typical session should be an up to 10-15 minute talk by a single presenter followed by 5-10 minutes of Q&A.

Lecture (50 minutes with 10 minutes of Q&A):

  • Each lecture is structured to include a presentation followed by a Q&A segment, allowing attendees to interact directly with the speaker. This format is ideal for those looking to deepen their understanding and engage in meaningful discussions with thought leaders in the field. Attendees are encouraged to bring their questions and insights to foster a collaborative learning environment.

Debate (60 minutes):

  • Each debate is structured to promote respectful dialogue, collaborative exchange of ideas, and constructive critique. This format encourages professional camaraderie, critical thinking, and a friendly exchange of ideas. A designated moderator guides the session, ensuring smooth progression, time management, and balanced participation.

Masterclass (3, 6, 9, or 12 hours):

  • This expanded presentation is ideal for complex subject matters which require more time to explore. Preference will be given to experienced presenters that submit a presentation where the information is timely, relevant, educational, vendor neutral, and explore best practices that are applicable to a global audience.

EduTour (off-site educational field trip opportunity):

  • This Edutour offers an opportunity to visit a facility where technology meets innovation. PRESENTATION EVALUATION CRITERIA

The charge of the review team is to analyze, design, and develop the educational content for the BICSI Winter Conference. Such content must be relevant, best practices that cover the existing and emerging topics in the design, installation, and maintenance of ICT that support voice, data, Internet, security, control, and other building management systems.

Evaluation Guidelines:

  • Topic and content are relevant to industry needs and interests.
  • Presenter(s) will provide new information, knowledge or skill, or a unique application of known information or skills.
  • Presenter(s) have a well-thought-out plan for engaing the audience.
  • The session content will inspire action or application.


PRESENTER GUIDELINES

  • All presenters must agree to BICSI's Terms & Conditions (listed below).
  • Submissions must receive a minimum score of 3 on a 4 scale during a blind review in order to be considered as a presenter at the Winter Conference.
  • Upon acceptance, information regarding important deadlines and requirements will be provided.
  • Upon acceptance, presenter(s) must return the signed letter of agreement no later than 12 October 2026. BICSI events are non-commercial. Under no circumstances may a presenter promote a product, service, or anything else representing monetary self-interest.
  • Failure to comply will impact future consideration. Any questions regarding this policy or specific presentation should be directed to the BICSI review team.
  • Presenters agree to abide by the terms of BICSI's copyright release.
  • Presenters agree to allow BICSI to include the PowerPoint presentation on the conference website in PDF format.


SPEAKER BENEFITS

Speakers at BICSI Winter 2027 will contribute to the advancement of their profession and gain visibility and recognition as a leader in the industry. Speakers will also receive a complimentary Winter Conference registration.


TERMS & CONDITIONS

Please note the following:

  • By submitting your presentation, all presenter(s) agree to the following Terms & Conditions for participation.
  • The presentation submitter will serve as primary contact for BICSI and must have a valid e-mail address.
  • BICSI requires participation in a planning call for each session. A preliminary PowerPoint presentation must be received by 7 December 2026. The final PowerPoint presentation must be received by 18 January 2027.
  • All presentations must be strictly generic. Avoid commercialism and use of trade names. Presentations of a marketing nature or those containing specific product demonstrations are not acceptable.
  • All presenters are required to grant unrestricted permission to BICSI to record, duplicate, and distribute any written and visual material submitted in connection with and including oral presentation, delivered at the program, in any and all media now existing and hereafter developed, throughout the world. All participants must grant this permission in order to be considered for participation in BICSI education offerings. Submitting a presentation indicates understanding and acceptance of this policy.
  • For all accepted submissions, BICSI reserves the right to edit descriptions, outcomes, or reassign identified topic area for promotional purposes.

Co-Presenter(s)

  • Co-presenter(s) must agree to all Terms & Conditions for participation.
  • BICSI strongly recommends no more than three (3) presenters and one (1) moderator per panel.
  • Submitter is responsible for communicating with co-presenter(s) regarding acceptance or rejection, deadlines, and all other session details.
