International Antimicrobial Council
IAC welcomes IFAI attendees to our mobile lab at the Expo
The International Antimicrobial Council (IAC) was founded in 2011 as a non-profit association that provides industry guidance for antimicrobials and odor controlling products in textiles. A primary IAC goal is to provide guidance to microbiological laboratories so that they can generate more accurate, comparable and uniform test results. The IAC is accomplishing this goal by harmonizing the test procedures used within the standard methods, training laboratories in these procedures and verifying the use of those procedures within each test performed. To accomplish this the IAC has implemented a Certified Lab Program and works with test labs worldwide to train technicians on the appropriate procedures to run within the standard test methods. The IAC also provides a Test Verification Program for laboratories that verifies the technician has used the IAC procedures when performing each test. A unique IAC verification number is provided for each test once the procedures are electronically verified. The use of uniform test procedures among laboratories provides comparable test results regardless of the Certified Laboratory used.
