JUPITER - Galileo Village
JUPITER project aims at promoting the use of GALILEO in ITS
JUPITER and the GALILEO, Ready for a Reliable Positioning for ITS demonstration
The launch of GALILEO services creates a great deal of possibilities for the development of innovative applications using GALILEO in the field of ITS. Funded by the European GNSS Agency (GSA) through the European Comission programme Horizon 2020, JUPITER aims at promoting the use of GALILEO in the field of ITS. Key ITS sectors in which GALILEO brings added value and potential European technology and services providers, especially SMEs, have been identified and will be presented by JUPITER: autonomous driving, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), logistics tracking, road-user charging, pay-per-use insurance, etc.
GALILEO, ready for a reliable positioning for ITS, a demonstration of new commercial products that use GALILEO key capabilities, will be carried out during the whole ITS congress week. A bus will be equipped, with several types of ITS-specific GNSS receivers that will show in real conditions the benefits of using Galileo to determine the position of the circulating bus.
In addition to this real conditions demonstration, visitors are kindly invited for a demonstration of the use of innovative Controlled Reception Pattern Antenna (CRPA) that takes a maximum benefit of Galileo new generation signals in order to remove the impact of signal reflections, particularly disturbing GNSS positioning performances in urban environment. These innovative techniques are particularly designed for ITS applications, and will for sure be seen as remarkable innovation in the way of using GNSS signals in the future. The demonstration will be broadcasted live on the GALILEO village stand.
