With its newly defined Group TOGETHER – Strategy 2025, the Volkswagen Group has laid the foundations for its lasting success in tomorrow's world of mobility and its envisioned evolution into a globally-leading provider of sustainable mobility.

First key building block of the TOGETHER – Strategy 2025 is the transformation of the Group’s traditional core business. The Volkswagen Group has always enriched the lives of millions of people all over the world with its brands and products. To keep this success story alive, the Group will focus on transforming its core automotive business to adapt it to the new age of mobility. Enabling new mobility chances through the introduction of forward-looking automotive innovations is a pillar of the Group’s strategy.

Addressing new mobility needs, especially in urban areas, besides the traditional automotive business is the second key building block of the TOGETHER – Strategy 2025. The future Group’s new mobility solutions business unit will develop a wide portfolio for customer-oriented mobility on-demand solutions, starting with ride hailing this year.

Aspiring to shape the mobility of the future, Volkswagen Group develops smart and integrated urban solutions for both people mobility and good transportation.

To that end, the Group relies on close collaborations with key partners for the mobility of the future.

Highlight for the 23rd ITS World Congress 2016 is our strategic mobility partnership sealed with the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, the second largest city in Germany and one of the most important ports in Europe, and the defined common initiatives and activities that will be implemented, especially within the framework of the city’s ITS-Strategy and its application to hosting the world ITS congress in 2021.
