Machining Racer Elite pistons from 2000 series aluminum alloy provides greater tensile strength and higher heat resistance. The piston is also machined with a box structure, allowing it to be stronger than a stock piston while maintaining the same lightweight characteristics.
Asymmetrical Skirt Design
The thrust side of the piston is the side that experiences the most load during engine operation. Racer Elite pistons are machined with asymmetrical skirts; the thrust load has more surface area to dissipate friction and heat, while the opposite side has minimal surface because the load is much less. This design results is lower friction operation, translating to more power.
Precision Fit Ring
The compression ring is lapped using a proprietary process to fit precisely into the ring groove. This creates a much better ring seal, reducing blow-by by over 30% and adding almost 3 horsepower in testing.
ArmorGlide™ Skirt Coating
Wiseco’s proprietary ArmorGlide™ skirt coating is applied to the piston skirts using a proprietary process, and reduces friction from cylinder contact throughout the life of the piston.
