Public health focuses on improving and protecting community health and well-being, with an emphasis on prevention among large groups of people. It promotes and protects the health of people and the communities where they live, learn, work and play.
With public health, we are preventing people from getting sick or injured in the first place. We also promote wellness by encouraging healthy behaviors.
The goal is to improve health outcomes for everyone and for all populations. Public health professionals keeps our communities healthy through child wellness, clean water, disaster relief, disease prevention, education, healthcare access, management and leadership, policy change, and much more.
