About the Toolkit
PhenX (consensus measures for Phenotypes and eXposures) is an initiative funded since 2007 by the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) to promote the use of standard protocols in a variety of study types with human participants. The web-based PhenX Toolkit includes standard protocols for a wide range of research domains and topics, including COVID-19 and social determinants of health. The use of standard protocols can increase the impact of individual studies by facilitating data pooling with other studies that also use PhenX protocols. To date, use of the PhenX Toolkit has been recommended in almost 600 Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs) by the National Institutes of Health.
