The Planetary Data System (PDS) is a long-term archive of digital data products returned from NASA's planetary missions. Archived products are available on-line. PDS is actively managed by planetary scientists to ensure its usefulness and usability by the worldwide planetary science community. PDS is a foundational element of NASA's Planetary Data Ecosystem. The PDS is the US member of the COSPAR-chartered International Planetary Data Alliance (IPDA). The mission of IPDA is to facilitate global access to, and exchange of, high quality scientific data products, support construction of compatible archives, support sharing of tools and software services, and define data archiving standards within the IPDA.
