Safety & Security Information
Below you will find safety and security recommendations, as well as the Emergency Response Plan for the event. Take a moment to review and familiarize yourself with this information in advance of the event and share it with any of your staff who will be on-site.
| Personal Safety |
- Event Management works diligently with the facility prior to each event to ensure the safety and security of all exhibitors, attendees, and the event. If you have any security concerns leading up to the event or on-site, bring them to the attention of Event Management.

- All persons attending must wear a badge. This includes during move-in, event hours, and move-out.
|
- Notify Event Management, or security immediately if you notice any safety hazards or witness anyone being injured anywhere in the building or nearby outside spaces.
|
- Be aware and be prepared. When you leave the facility at the end of the day, remove your badge and have all emergency numbers saved into your phone. Be aware of your surroundings and take caution, especially in the evenings. Travel in pairs or call a cab.

- Lost & Found articles may be turned in or claimed at Registration during event days. After the event contact the JW Marriot Miami Turnberry 24 hour Safety & Security Department at 305.936.2922.

| Event Security |
- Be Careful! Sponsors and Exhibitors are asked to take precautions with items at their One-to-One and Energy Hub tables. Although the doors of the meeting rooms will be locked in the evening, safeguard personal property and belongings and at the end of each day, pack up and take with you anything of value.
|
- Security will "sweep" the halls at the close of the event each day to clear them of all visitors and personnel. Only sponsor/exhibitor personnel who have requested special permission will be allowed in the event rooms after closing.
|
- Any thefts or damage must be reported to event management or security immediately.
|

Sponsors & Exhibitors should report any suspicious activity as soon as possible to the JW Marriot Miami Turnberry 24 hour Safety & Security Department immediately, and describe specifically what you observed, including: who or what you saw, when you saw it, where it occurred and why it's suspicious.

- EMERGENCIES - Public Safety Dispatch: 911
- The emergency number 911 is the primary emergency number for the facility. You may also use any house or guest phone in the hotel and dial “0” for At Your Service or “3611” which connects you to our 24 hour, 7 day a week Emergency Safety & Security Department line.

- NON-EMERGENCIES - connect directly to the 24 hour Safety & Security Department.

- The Safety & Security Department is staffed 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.

JW Marriott Miami Turnberry is equipped with an approved Fire & Life Safety System which is maintained by Johnson Controls, a professional and certified alarm company.
In an emergency, the alarm sounds and the fire response procedures are initiated.
- All guests in the affected areas are notified in the event of a fire alarm.
- The alarm can be identified with an audible siren in conjunction with strobe lights.
- Evacuation routes/directions/procedures are posted on the back of every guest room door.
- Associates will assist in directing guests as needed.
- Depending on your location, guests will be directed to the main entry median (located on the main drive in front of the Spa and Starbucks) or Golf Course (located on the north, west, and south sides of the property) until the all clear has been given.
