Atlixco, Mexico, offers cool, overcast conditions of 50°F to 70°F year-round making the area perfect for growing flowers. Atlixco's nutrient rich soil allows all of the biggest growers, including us, to produce near-to-perfection flowers.
Atlixco is known as one of the 15 magic towns in Mexico. The city encompasses a view of two active volcanoes, Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl, which inspire the most popular legend of Mexico. Popocatépetl, or "The Smoking Mountain" became an active volcano, showering the Earth with fire in blind rage at the loss of his lover, Iztaccihuatl. Although originally known to be detrimental to the valley, the fire allowed for a complete rebirth of the land, starting with the nutrient-rich soil. The belief of this legend is wide-spread between the people of this city, allowing them to express gratitude to the mountains, along with love and magic throughout their everyday lives.
Our Company
WHERE IT ALL STARTED
Our history dates back to the late 1980s, when Mr. Stefan Vrolijk took a leap of faith by moving from the Netherlands to Mexico for work and fell in love with the country, its people, and its culture. While growing as a professional, he realized that the gladiolus was frequently used as decoration in all sorts of ways in his new home country, and came up with the idea of bringing more of this beauty from his motherland, the Netherlands, to Mexico. Ever since, for over thirty years, Mr. Stefan Vrolijk dedicated part of his life to the import of gladiolus bulbs from the Netherlands to Mexico, eventually becoming one the largest gladiolus bulb importers in the world.
