The Meatrix System is built tough. The ABS/Polycarbonate case is one of the toughest plastics available. The two temperature probes are rated for 1000+ degrees. Most meat thermometer probes can't handle more than 575 degrees. Meatrix probes can even handle submersion in water or cooking oil.
