Embodme develops 3D touch and vision sensors for
surfaces and displays. IRIS is a nearfield infrared sensor
based on a photodiode array that can illuminate a scene
and measure its reflected light with interlaced emitters
and receivers. The end result is a point cloud of the facing
scene with points of interest such as body, hands, fingers,
or objects. This solves the field‐of‐view limitation from
cameras and provides continuous data tracking from the
contact surface and up to 50cm.
