Utilizing carbon fiber construction, breakthrough vacuum technology and advanced design, KOR is bringing a case to the market that will change the way sportsmen carry their firearms to the field.
Until now, firearms and sensitive accessories have been made to fit in pre-cut foam forms, which meant that each rifle required its own case. Now, KOR’s revolutionary design employs a patent-pending Vacuum Rigidizing Structure™ (VRS) technology that creates enveloping, custom forms around any type of firearm and accompanying gear that ensures nothing moves until they’re ready to be used. This means that instead of a case for every type of firearm, there can be just one case for all.
KOR Cases was founded by longtime sportsman and hunter GP Searle, who says that the idea was born of necessity. “The inspiration came from a simple question from my wife as she was trying to organize our basement. She asked, ‘Why do you need all these cases?’ My prompt reply was, ‘because there isn’t one case that works for every trip’”.
And that was just the start of Searle’s inspiration. To match the custom protection provided on the inside, he also went to work with engineers and designers to strengthen and streamline the case exterior. For that he looked to what the racing world has used for years to make Formula 1 cars lighter and stronger — carbon fiber construction. Six layers of the material creates the sort of tensile strength found in steel cables, resulting in a tough but sleek exterior. Searle and the team then fashioned angled, or chamfered, edges that absorb the force of dropping, stacking or other mishandling during transit. Seamless, Kevlar hinges have no moving parts, and the case is water- and dust-proof, thermally stable to minus 125 degrees Fahrenheit.
Even though KOR cases were initially designed for rifles, their use extends to all kinds of high-value assets such as camera and laboratory equipment.
