Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) is the act of using a third party to take care of repetitive back office duties.

Outsourcing cuts down on costs for in house labour, particularily for staffing, training, and the work space required to accomodate local employees.

Back office duties are usually defined as  Billing-Order Entry-Rating-Manifesting-POD Entry-Cube entry, etc.

Transportation companies that adopt a BPO team will have a better ability to focus on their core business, which is picking up, moving, and delivering freight.

Allowing a BPO team to take over these back office duties will also allow better focus on cash flow.
