How It Works: The SorbWeb™ Plus oil containment system is designed to allow water to pass freely through its "Smart Barrier." At the heart of the system is a smart geotextile known as "oilmat." If equipment failure leads to an oil spill, the oilmat congeals and seals the oil, preventing it from passing through.

In its passive state, the system allows water to move freely through the bottom "Smart Barrier" without accumulating. However, when hydrocarbons from mineral oil contact the "Smart Barrier," they undergo a physical change. This chemical change congeals and seals the oil inside the fabric, turning it into an impermeable membrane to protect the environment.

Specifications:

• Oilmat is manufactured from 100% virgin black fiber with excellent chemical resistance.

Documentation: Albarrie stamps all IFC drawings. The final reports include stamped drawings, detailed volumetric containment, step-by-step documentation of the installation and an emergency preparedness guide.

HOW IT WORKS: Oil Blocker Plus uses Albarrie's Oil Blocker barrier boom around the perimeter of the containment area to trap leaked mineral oil from oil-filled equipment. This trap prevents oil from passing into the soil and navigable waters. The system is custom manufactured with a special oilmat-liner connection joint, preventing water from pooling at the bottom. As a result, companies can meet SPCC regulations for secondary containment at a fraction of the cost of traditional and alternative methods.

Q-Max High-Efficiency Hydrocarbon Stop Valve is ideal for any de-water application where hydrocarbons are present. It is designed to capture hydrocarbons like diesel and transformer oil.

How It Works: As contaminated water enters the Q-Max, water flows through the outer shell, passing through the polymer and into the inner core. Upon contact with hydrocarbons, Albarrie's proprietary blend of polymer congeals and seals the oil, preventing it from passing through. This allows clean water to exit the valve while trapping the oil inside for clean-up.
