This masterclass will focus on key topics of importance that pertain to the Enterprise Wi-Fi Technician’s job functions including radio frequency (RF) fundamentals, 802.11 channels and operations and wireless LAN security. Demonstrations of viewing Physical Layer information with a spectrum analyzer and Data Link Layer frame and packet information with a protocol analyzer will be conducted. This technician can install wireless access points (APs) based on a design document, configure the APs for initial operations, ensure connectivity, troubleshoot basic problems and assist users in-person or through remote communications in problem resolution. The ability to configure a WLAN client for connectivity is paramount with an understanding of the configuration process for SSIDs, security settings and other client adapter settings. This individual should be able to gather information from a design specification document to properly configure an AP and troubleshoot individual connection issues.
