SESSION SURVEY

OSP fiber applications and methodologies are rapidly expanding and advancing. This session will explore new and expanding fiber applications, such as wireless and sensing in adjacent markets. Neither application is entirely new to fiber, but recent advancements such as 5G microcells and advanced sensing applications are driving new and unique fiber-rich deployments. The presentation will highlight unique aspects and practices to each and compare how they are similar to familiar applications and concepts. The session will also cover the rapidly expanding deployment method of air-blown fiber, including benefits, components, and common deployment and installation methods.
