Description

SESSION SURVEY

First responder communication technology in K-12 schools has gained momentum over the last decade due to a growing number of school shootings. But one of the recent catalysts was the introduction of Alyssa’s Law, mandating the installation of silent panic alarms in elementary and secondary schools that can immediately alert law enforcement in the event of an emergency. What once originated in Florida is now sweeping the nation. Not only is the law helping to make schools safer on its own, but it is a gateway to the installation of other safety measures such as ERCES to help improve first responder connectivity in and around the premises during emergencies. In this session, The presenter will discuss the importance of Alyssa’s Law to the growth of public safety, as well as present a case study that walks attendees through different approaches to deploying ERCES, and how the system can double as an important backup to other connected school safety measures currently running on Wi-Fi.
