At ACS Fall this year we're excited to announce the combined Specac and Harrick Scientific brand, following the latter's acquisition by Specac earlier this year. The combined company will operate as Specac in the United States and around the world. Specac now represents the heritage of two long-standing leaders in spectroscopy accessory design, with industry-leading products in application fields as diverse as catalysis research, pharmaceutical analysis, oil & lubricant analysis and identification of suspicious substances by police departments. Our newly joined team will provide unrivalled knowledge, support, and technical know-how to our many customers around the world. Our Applications Team will have access to demonstration laboratory facilities in the UK and USA enabling us to determine the best possible solution for your application. Specac began in 1971 as Spectroscopic Accessories Ltd, and has grown in recent years to become the leading manufacturer of spectroscopy accessories and sample preparation for FT-IR spectroscopy. We also have established strengths in flow cells for on-line process NIR spectroscopy and in polarization optics for IR spectroscopy. Harrick Scientific was founded by Dr N. J. Harrick in 1969, making foundational contributions to the development of the attenuated total reflectance (ATR) technique. Latterly it has been the market leader in accessories for the spectroscopic analysis of heterogenous catalyst systems using the DRIFTS technique.
