The International Association of Forensic Nurse’s mission is to promote leadership in forensic nursing practice by developing, promoting, and disseminating information and education internationally. The IAFN is the recognized authority on forensic nursing.  The Association is the catalyst for universal access to forensic nursing care for patients impacted by violence and trauma. The Association offers board certifications, continuing education through our On Line Learning Center and Annual Conference on Forensic Nursing Science and Practice, Educational Guidelines and networking.  IAFN has several federally funded projects, the SAFEta Project, which provides targeted training and technical assistance around the National Protocol for Sexual Assault Medical Forensic Exams Adult/Adolescent, and the Kidsta Project, which provides training and technical assistance around the National Pediatric Protocol and the Tribal Forensic Healthcare project, which provides training for the U.S. Indian Health Services.
