Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy
Elevate Your Genealogical Education to New Heights with SLIG
The Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy (SLIG), hosted by the Utah Genealogical Association annually, focuses on high-intermediate to advanced education. SLIG 2020 celebrates our 25th anniversary and features sixteen courses with in-depth instruction from the nation's top educators on topics from regional research to advanced methodology. Held at the Hilton SLC Center, students also enjoy networking, special events, and researching at the nearby Family History Center.
Professional Topics: SLIG is followed by the SLIG Academy for Professionals, featuring in-depth instruction on topics of interest to professionals and budding professionals such as writing for peer review, managing projects, DNA, and public speaking.
SLIG Virtual: Our fall lineup includes a new twist on our Advanced Evidence Analysis Practicum – featuring all DNA cases this year. Our Virtual Intermediate Foundations course will be held in the daytime this fall. And we have added a In-Depth Swedish and Finnish Research course to round out the mix.
