The South Coast Air Quality Management District (South Coast AQMD) is the air pollution control agency for the urban portions of Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties and all of Orange county — a region that has made dramatic progress but still falls short of meeting federal standards for healthful air. This area is home to 17 million residents, hundreds of thousands of transportation emission sources, an economically critical goods movement network, and America's biggest proving ground for a diverse range of clean air strategies. Through a strategic program of technology assessments, public-private partnerships, fleet demonstrations, incentive funding, policy advocacy, and inter-active public involvement, South Coast AQMD and its partners are helping to make clean transportation happen.
