MediaSuite is designed specifically for hoteliers and their guests with convenience in mind
DALLAS - PPDS, the exclusive provider of Philips Professional TV and Digital Signage products, software, and innovations will showcase its new Philips MediaSuite pro Android TVs, together with a full line up of Philips hospitality TVs, digital signage, interactive touchscreens, and LED displays, at HITEC®, the world’s largest and oldest hospitality technology event, on September 27-30 in Dallas, Texas.
This event forms part of PPDS’ much-anticipated return to the hospitality market in North America, for which it has launched the cutting-edge Philips MediaSuite. The hotel industry’s first, and most advanced, smart TV designed specifically for the hotel room, MediaSuite is the only hospitality display in the US market with Netflix® embedded and ready to activate so that hotel guests can connect to their own account*, with no additional box or hardware required.
As well as demonstrating the advanced benefits of the MediaSuite, at HITEC, PPDS will also be showcasing Philips LED displays, digital signage, and touch screen products as part of its suite of hospitality solutions, designed to address every aspect of the hotels’ needs and enhance the guest experience. In addition to these products, PPDS recently announced two new Property Management System (PMS) integrator partnerships, allowing hoteliers and installers even more integration options for secure and personalized content, along with more streaming solutions for their hotel guests in Philips MediaSuite TV-installed rooms.
“We’ve spent the past six years perfecting the hotel smart TV experience with Philips MediaSuite. Every aspect of its design is based on extensive research, market feedback, and the preferences and demands of the hotel industry,” said Joe King, Vice President of Commercial Displays for PPDS North America. “By taking an innovative and fresh approach, we have designed what we believe will both transform and elevate the hotel TV market. We’re looking forward to working with our new PMS partners and sharing this new line that highlights form, function and integration options with the hospitality and technology experts at HITEC.”
Signifying a major evolution in pro TVs, Philips MediaSuite TVs come with Netflix – the world’s most popular streaming platform – already embedded and ready to be activated, allowing users to enjoy seamless access to all their favorite movies and shows in just a few simple clicks. With MediaSuite, there’s no need for any external players or satellite TV, which helps hoteliers keep their operational costs down and installations neat, all while maintaining a modern look. A dedicated Netflix button on the remote control provides instant access for efficient usability.
In addition, MediaSuite TVs feature Chromecast built-in™ so guests can wirelessly cast their preferred apps or stream from their personal device (smartphone, laptop, or tablet) directly to the TV. Instead of fumbling with a remote to log in to multiple apps, guests can now simply tap the Chromecast icon on their smart device to start streaming content from hundreds of cast-enabled apps, with their smart device becoming the remote. They can quickly and easily cast and view their preferred content – whether movies, photos, music, or even presentations and more from their smart device – instantly with the touch of a button.
All Philips MediaSuite TVs come pre-installed with exciting features and functionality for an enhanced and more personalized guest experience, consistent with the technology guests are used to enjoying at home. These include Google Assistant™ voice control functionality, enabled by an optional voice control Bluetooth® remote, allowing users to perform an ever-growing number of functions through voice commands, such as opening apps and controlling volume.
The new line also features PPDS CMND, which serves as a central command center for hoteliers to manage all of the TVs on property from one location (computer or tablet). For instance, the hotelier can easily send messages, make system-wide upgrades, or even block certain channels per a group’s request, with just a few keystrokes, creating a cleaner and more efficient way to manage the property’s TVs.
Two of PPDS’ leading PMS partners, Nevotek and TigerTMS, will both be present in the booth to demonstrate their integrations and benefits. These new collaborations, along with others that PPDS works with, help hoteliers to maximize the full potential of their in-room TVs with experience-enhancing control, management communication, and entertainment capabilities for advanced and tailored guest experiences.
On display at PPDS’ booth 2216 at HITEC, attendees can view the Philips MediaSuite series in 43”, 50”, 55”, 65” and 75”, with the stunning 4K UHD (3840x2160) picture quality and super-slim, black bezel design, including stylish matching stand. The full range runs on Android TV OS.
“We are committed to not only making the entertainment experience seamless and convenient for both the hotelier and the guest but also to elevate it. The hotel industry has fallen behind when it comes to smart TVs, and what today’s modern guest is accustomed to at home, “ added King. “Hotel owners can now provide their guests the feeling of a ‘home entertainment experience’ without purchasing additional hardware or requiring multiple steps to enjoy their favorite shows. And ultimately drive guest satisfaction and loyalty.”
