Rösti Stuft Spuds wants everyone in America to know that frozen food with clean, simple ingredients is not only possible, but already available at your local grocery store! We are in the era of clean eating, and Rösti Stuft Spuds makes that possible without the hassle of cooking.   

The rösti originated as “peasant food” in the early 1800s in the Canton of Bern, Switzerland. History says wives would shred potatoes each morning, fill them with supper leftovers from the night before and fry on both sides till the potato exterior was crispy. The spuds would sustain the men in the fields all day until their return home for supper.

After tasting this traditional dish in Switzerland, Stephen Caldwell knew he had to share this savory snack with his family back in America. After years of making homemade rösti with friends and family, Caldwell decided to share his recipe with the world. As the first commercially available rösti in the U.S, Rösti Stuft Spuds preserve the snack’s history while embracing innovation and American food preferences in a convenient, frozen form.
