Sera Prognostics is a women’s health diagnostics company dedicated to improving the lives of women and babies. Sera is the first to launch a simple blood test (PreTRM®) that biologically identifies, and reports, to a physician the individualized risk of spontaneous premature delivery in a pregnancy. Early identification of higher risk, and appropriate evidence-based treatment, can help to prolong gestational age at birth, improve newborn health and reduce NICU days and associated costs.

Sera’s PreTRM® Test provides employers value through an innovative solution to reduce high dollar claims associated with maternal and neonatal care. PreTRM® can be featured as a key component for building impactful Diversity and Inclusion programs, as African and Native American women have the highest preterm birth rates in the U.S.

PreTRM® provides employers with added value to attract and retain new talent, reduce health care costs, while keeping their workforce engaged and productive at work. Absenteeism, presenteeism, mental health conditions, and resignations caused by premature labor can be mitigated, further contributing to savings.

Customized, employer specific clinical and economic impact estimates are available on request.

PreTRM® test is the first, clinically validated blood test that accurately provides an individualized prediction of spontaneous premature birth. Early test and treatment extend gestational age at birth, mitigating the risk of poor neonatal outcomes....

  • PreTRM® test is a first of its kind, clinically validated test that accurately provides an individualized prediction of spontaneous premature birth risk before 37 weeks gestational age. Combined with traditional clinical screening methods, this comprehensive approach can identify greater than four times more patients at risk of delivering prematurely. Traditional screening methods fail to identify most women who may be at increased risk for preterm birth. Traditional predictors of preterm birth identify only 17% of the population at risk. These predictors include women with a short cervix (6%) and/or a prior history of having a preterm birth (11%). Over 80+% of women may be missed with these traditional predictors.

PreTRM® Test results are actionable and provided early in pregnancy, allowing the patient’s physician to appropriately manage her care using evidence-based interventions to extend gestational age for as long as possible, mitigating the risk of poor neonatal outcomes.
