Uxbridge Nurseries Limited

Brooklin,  ON

Uxbridge Nurseries Limited is a family owned and operated wholesale large caliper nursery stock grower.  With 3 generations and 48 years backing our history and knowledge, we have our roots firmly planted in the industry.  Located just north east of Toronto Ontario Canada, we grow our stock on 900 acres found on numerous farms throughout our region.  Our specialty is premium quality wire basket trees, shrubs and evergreens.

Uxbridge Nurseries grows a top-quality product that doesn't just look good when it arrives but will thrive in the harsh conditions of the landscape environment.  By perfectly drawing the line between too much or too little nurturing, we at Uxbridge Nurseries strive to provide you with a tree that will 'keep on growing'.  Our growing practices involve pruning, staking, watering and weeding when necessary.  We also put our stock into large root balls because what happens above the ground is a direct result of what's going on below the ground.  The more roots you can take with the plant when transplanting, the better.

With our superior customer service, we can work with you to get your orders delivered or ready for pick up in a fast and organized manner.

  • Carpinus caroliniana 'Uxbridge'
Introducing 'our' tree - Rising Fire Hornbeam! Discovered during a nursery tour of our fields, this tree shows great promise as a street tree and a unique specimen for any landscape project. Its fall colour is what sets it apart from other Hornbeam....

  • From Acer campestre to Zelkova serrata, Uxbridge Nurseries has your A-Z list of trees ready to supply in sizes from 1 1/2" up to 4" in caliper. But there is one that Harry Worsley, President of Uxbridge Nurseries is particularly excited to announce to the nursery world.

Uxbridge Nurseries is incredibly proud to offer saleable stock of ‘our’ Rising Fire Hornbeam.  A specimen tree was discovered in a block of the native Carpinus caroliniana in one of our fields over 5 years ago during a nursery visit by representatives of J. Frank Schmidt and Sons Co who were so excited by this single parent tree that they went onto propagate liners from it.

It holds great promise as a vigorous, yet mannerly growing street tree and as a beautiful specimen in any landscape.  Its lively mix of bright red & orange fall colours and columnar form add to its charm.  Still in limited supply, we will have trees up to 2” by the fall.  Give us a call for more information.  We are pretty proud of it!

  • Uxbridge Nurseries is 'rooting for you'!
Our roots lay in the desire to grow plant material that not only survives but thrives in the urban landscape. And it all begins with a root system that is nurtured from liner stage to the final product that will ultimately be planted in your project....

  • Uxbridge Nurseries is rooting for you. When you plant one of our trees, we want it to survive in the harsh conditions of the landscape environment. A quality tree starts from below the ground.  Knowing the stress that digging has on a tree when up to 70% of the root system is cut off, Uxbridge Nurseries maintains healthy soil conditions to promote strong and healthy root growth.  We let our land rest and rotate crops to ensure the correct nutrients get back into the soil.  We are constantly working on new ideas, whether it is how we line out whips, undercut, or dig to create a better root system for you. Also, we dig many of our trees in a larger wire basket leaving more roots and soil. (Shade trees: 1 ½” in a 24”, 2-2 ½” mm in a 28”, 2 ¾” in a 32”, 3” in a 36”, Evergreens: 5-6’ in a 28”, 7’ in a 32”, 8-9’ in a 36”, and 10’ in a 40” etc).

Thank you for participating in MANTS 2021!
