  • Seed Grown Native Azalea and Shrub Liners
Carolina Native Nursery has been growing native Azalea and other native shrubs from seed for over 18 years. We use RootMaker flats which ensure a healthy and vigorous root system....

  • Every fall, Carolina Native Nursery collects Azalea seeds from local populations in Western North Carolina. If there are seeds that we can't get locally, we set off on field trips to GA and SC to find what we need. We also work with the Azalea and Rhododendron Society to get seeds that are too far for us to travel to collect. We then sow these seeds in one of our 4 propagation houses in community trays. After a few months when the plants have hardened off and produced 4-6 leaves, we separate and transplant then into RootMaker liner trays. We then allow them to fully root in before we offer them for sale or pot them up into one gallon containers for sale or for in-house production for finished three gallon plants. Our four propagation houses are full so we have plenty of plants for everbody. The demand has been so high that we've been adding a propagation house every year to our property. We are also available to contract grow other woodies that are not on our list such as Ceanothus americanus, Hydrangea arborescens, and many more. Check out our website for availability, http://www.CarolinaNativeNursery.com
