Do you find CAD too confusing or complex or costly?
Have you tried to explain a restaurant kitchen equipment layout, but needed more than just words, so you grabbed a napkin to sketch out your vision?
Then KCL NapkinSketch is for you! It’s included, along with so many other time-saving features, with a subscription to KCL. Not a subscriber? Download a free two-week trial to give it a try.
KCL NapkinSketch is game-changer for foodservice design professionals and salespeople. This new tool allows you to sketch out an equipment layout (floor plan or elevation) using KCL CAD blocks and Revit families without requiring a CAD program.
Commercial Kitchen Design without CAD
Yes, you can jumpstart your design process using actual CAD blocks and Revit families without a CAD program, such as AutoCAD, in KCL 5 desktop.
Here’s how you get started.
Just open a blank window to which you can add symbols. You can move, rotate, or delete blocks and balloons from the sketch after you add them. KCL NapkinSketch uses your balloon settings (prompt for number, autonumber and custom balloons). You can add 2D CAD and 3D CAD, as well as the KCL exclusives Revit to CAD and Custom Blocks.
Want to keep working on the design you started? No problem! You can export and import Napkin Sketch files for later editing. Or save your NapkinSketches as PDFs or DWGs and send them to your colleagues or clients. It’s much easier to retrieve your NapkinSketch than a crumpled up sheet of paper.
If you send your NapkinSketch DWG to a KCL subscriber, they can open the file in AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT and then use advanced KCL tools, such as Edit Balloons, Schedule, or Specbook, to finish it off.
