Description

Home Health Care has historically struggled to staff Saturdays and Sundays to meet the high demand for weekend admissions, leading to short-staffed teams and stressful Mondays playing catch-up. Mass General Brigham Home Care will share strategies to recruit and retain weekend staff while we developed an extensive, successful weekend program. Though many hospitals must wind down and empty their beds on Fridays, MGB Home Care expanded and grew our staff to meet the demand, centralizing our services with its own cost center under one weekend manager. Saturday is our highest admission volume of the week. Our weekend admission clinicians have some of the best PDGM functional composite scores, OASIS accuracy, and improved timeliness of care outcomes. Learn the best practices we’ve used to transform Mondays from the most chaotic day of the week into a productive workday. When our patients are sick and scared and it’s the weekend, MGB home health care staff are there and ready to help.
