Rich Berner is the Chief Executive Officer of Complia Health, a leading provider of technology solutions and services for home health, personal care and hospice agencies. As CEO, Rich guides the company’s direction to help care agencies advance care experiences by providing proactive, predictive, cost-effective care on the consumers’ terms.
Rich has more than 25 years of experience leading teams that develop innovative products across a variety of business-to-business and business-to-consumer industries. Rich joined Complia Health after serving as CEO of MDLIVE, where he introduced the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to improve the quality of telehealth services.
Prior to MDLIVE, Rich served in executive roles with Allscripts including President, International & Acute, where Allscripts’ Sunrise EMR was named the KLAS #1 Global EMR, and the #1 EMR for Academic Medical Centers and Large Hospitals by Black Book in 2014-2016. He previously also held executive positions at Caradigm, a Microsoft/GE joint venture and Cerner Corporation, both in the U.S. and abroad.
Broadly educated in business and technology, Rich is passionate about helping care agencies enhance their business structure and processes to deliver better health outcomes at lower cost, and successfully manage the health of populations. He is closely attuned to the latest healthcare industry and market trends and provides valuable insights into the far-sweeping pending changes in regulatory and reimbursement policies. Key to success in this new environment is thoughtful diversification of service lines to deliver “whole person” care services, per the requirements of capitation and value-based purchasing models.
