Description

Soon we will begin our fourth year with PDGM, yet agencies still struggle with the “new” reimbursement algorithm. Management and clinical staff seem to be at opposite ends of the pole, trying to reconcile limited utilization while still meeting the patients' needs. Appropriate number of visits used by clinical staff shouldn't be a difficult battle, nor should micromanaging clinicians be a necessary solution to the new PDGM payment structure. This session will help provide meaning to PDGM in the midst of the gibberish we are attempting to comprehend. A simplistic approach to PDGM will allow agencies to fully train clinicians on what CMS expects from them at the bedside, providing the best quality care and still help the agency thrive. PDGM is NOT a cost-cutting measure implemented by CMS to reduce overall costs. Rather, it's an evidence-based guide for home health agencies to provide quality care that result in better patient outcomes.
