Nick Knowlton

Profile
Nick Knowlton is the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for Brightree, where he leads the company’s initiatives and strategy for healthcare interoperability. Nick also chairs the membership committee and serves on the operating committee and leadership team for CommonWell Health Alliance, which he co-founded in 2013. Prior to joining Brightree, Nick ran strategic initiatives for Greenway Health, a market leader in the physician practice health information technology sector. In this role, Nick led Greenway’s interoperability initiatives for connecting their care providers across the healthcare ecosystem. He championed dozens of projects, including representing Greenway on the Steering Committee of Carequality, and led Greenway’s efforts in working with large acute care vendors to establish a connectivity culture in the industry that emphasizes data liquidity and interoperability. Nick has led or been involved with dozens of health information exchange projects in both the public health information organization and private enterprise health system sectors - across acute, ambulatory and post-acute settings. Nick has also testified on the state of interoperability to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC). Nick has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Notre Dame. He lives in Denver, CO with his wife and their three children.
