Profile
Carter Girvin is a licensed doctor of physical therapy in Virginia working for Continuum Home Health at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She graduated from Duke University’s Doctorate in Physical Therapy program in 2015. Carter began work in an outpatient orthopedic clinical setting with focus on sport-related injury and chronic pain. She transitioned to the home health setting in 2018 due to a strong interest in geriatric care. Carter has research experience through conducting a systematic literature review in a team setting under the guidance of a faculty advisor, focusing on the topic of: Conservative Physical Therapy Interventions in the Short Term Treatment of Plantar Fasciitis. She also contributed to publication of the Oswestry Disability Index in the Rehab Measures online database. Carter’s ongoing research over the past 2-3 years has been focused on Emergency Department overuse and prevention in the home health setting.
