OUSD R&E SBIR/STTR Program Office
The Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) oversees the Department of Defense (DoD) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Programs.
These competitive programs are Congressionally authorized set-asides established to encourage domestic small businesses to engage in research and development with the potential for commercialization. The SBIR/STTR programs support scientific excellence and technological innovation through the investment of Federal research funds in critical American priorities to build a strong national economy and accelerate capabilities to the warfighter.
OUSD(R&E) provides the Office of the Secretary of Defense a point of contact for Congress, the Small Business Administration (SBA), Government Accountability Office (GAO), and the interagency SBIR/STTR community. Our organization also seeks technology partnership opportunities with the DoD and other Federal agencies
