Alison Vaux-Bjerke has been with the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion since 2015. She has provided physical activity subject matter expertise and project management to the 2018 Physical Activity Guidelines Advisory Committee; the second edition of the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans; the Eat Healthy, Be Active Community Workshops; and the National Youth Sports Strategy. Prior to joining ODPHP she was a lecturer in nutrition, physical fitness, and health promotion at The George Washington University, Trinity Washington University, and American University; and managed an AmeriCorps grant for Playworks DC, a play-based educational non-profit. Ms. Vaux-Bjerke has contributed to public health practice and policy since receiving her Master of Public Health degree in Physical Activity from The George Washington University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Nutrition from the University of California, Davis.
