I graduated from Lake Superior State University in 1988 with a dual major in Biological Sciences / Fisheries and Wildlife Management. In 1990 I began my career with the City of Mt. Pleasant in the wastewater treatment plant. While with Mt. Pleasant I went back to school at Central Michigan University. I graduated in 2000 with a Master’s Degree in Conservation Biology. In 2001 I became Superintendent of Water and Wastewater Treatment for the City of Clare. November 2013, I began working for Michigan Rural Water Association. I hold the Michigan A and L2 wastewater certifications, Michigan F3, D1 and S2 water certifications, 9 industrial wastewater certifications, level A and B underground storage tank certification, MIOSHA level 1 certification and 40-hour HAZWOPER certification. I was on the steering committee for the EPA manual Rural and Small Systems Guidebook to Sustainable Utility Management. I live in Beal City, home of the Aggies. I have been married 28 years, have 3 daughters, and three grandsons.
