Conservation districts are local units of government established under state law to carry out natural resource management programs at the local level. Districts work with landowners and operators to help them manage and protect land and water resources on private and public lands.

  • Each county in Pennsylvania has a conservation district except for Philadelphia. That’s 66 local conservation offices who are protecting local water and soil resources across the Commonwealth! 

    Conservation Districts implement a variety of programs that address issues unique to their county including:

    Dirt & Gravel Roads Program
    Environmental Education
