Meridian Engineers is firmly established as one of Australia’s most innovative train weighing companies with a reputation for leading-edge loading and weighing systems plus specialist consulting and design services in the structural, mechanical, electronics and software fields.  Meridian Engineers is rapidly developing an international footprint through innovative engineering.

Meridian Engineers was established in 1987 as a consulting engineering business. Meridian has built on its consulting knowledge to provide very cost effective weighing systems with smart programming and interfaces. The train loading, weighing and bin systems are now the focus of the company’s activities.

Our train weighing systems are trade approved in both Australia and the UK and are capable of weighing trains from 0.3 to 62mph.

Our bolt-on transducers, which can be fitted to load bearing structural elements including beams, columns and rail, are available as an intrinsically safe version, certified to both IECEx and ATEX.

We have developed accurate bin and tank weighing systems that can easily be retrofitted to existing structures using our bolt on load cells that attach to supporting columns.

Our systems are used to automate the train loading process and to load trains accurately by providing wagon load information in real time to operators and control systems. Typical applications are at coal and iron ore mines as well as grain transport.
