Rustom Dessai is a Principal Grid Innovation Engineer on the Grid Innovation Team at PG&E. He is currently the technical lead for PG&E’s Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) Demonstration Project and the Redwood Coast Airport Microgrid Project. He also serves as an advisor for other DER related projects and regulatory matters for PG&E. Rustom joined PG&E in 2007 with previous roles as engineering lead for the Volt/VAR Optimization Pilot program and a Power Quality Engineer. As part of the Grid Innovation Team, Rustom is focused on evaluating new distribution technologies to deliver customer and operational benefits. Rustom is a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer in the state of California and received a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
