Desert Bighorn Sheep / Mule Deer Hunts

In 1982 La Guarida Ranch, with the idea of reintroducing the desert bighorn sheep to its original habitat, started developing water sources for the native wildlife, where a beautiful lodge was built.  In 2000, the first desert bighorn sheep were transplanted from Tiburon island and additional sheep were transplanted in 2002 and 2003 from other sources to increase genetic diversity.

Rancho La Guarida has since created a 20,000-acre eco system for desert bighorn sheep. Due to the excellent habitat and genetics, now there is a herd of +400 sheep, with about half of them being rams so hunters can expect to harvest rams in the 175 – 190 category. Desert bighorn sheep taken on the Ranch qualify for the Boone & Crockett Club Record Book, Pope & Young record program, as well as the WSF Awards Programs as free range, fair chase wild sheep.

After the hunter arrives in Chihuahua City, everything will be arranged for them in the very finest tradition of Mexican hospitality. The hunt is for 10 days with one companion included.
