Summer horseback vacations
We offer deep wilderness hunts, 25 miles in on horses and mules right in the heart of sheep and elk country. All sheep hunts are a spectacular 10 day hunt whereas the elk hunts are 8 days. Typically, the sheep will be at 9,000 feet or higher. We will be camping in our Mountain Creek camp along with our elk hunters. We will also stay in spike camps to move with or closer to the sheep as needed. Our camp is located in the Bridger Teton National Forest and runs along the border of Yellowstone National Park. We are in the historic area called the Thorofare. We offer 4 rifle elk hunts. Our bulls average 315-330 and we harvest a handful of bulls from 345-350 every year. The first 2 rifle hunts are bugling hunts and the last 2 rifle hunts are migratory hunts. The 2 migratory hunts are somewhat dependent on weather and we get to hunt the big bulls moving out of Yellowstone National Park. We do include mule deer hunts on the last 2 rifle hunts as well for a trophy fee only if you harvest a deer. Let us know what your interests are and we will work to accomodate you!
