Our polymerizable surfactants were introduced to the industry in the 1980s. 

Brands: HITENOL series are polymerizable surfactants. They show extremely low foaming of latexes and high water resistance of polymer films, and are receiving high evaluation marks from the market worldwide.


    HITENOL AR is APE-free polymerizable surfactant, more environment firendly. It copolymerize with various monomers including Styrene.
    HITENOL AR makes latex with lower foaming than other polymerizable surfactnats....

  • Polymerizable surfactant bears a carbon-carbon double bond that undergoes radical polymerization. During the initial stage through the middle stage of emulsion polymerization, HITENOL AR acts just as the same as conventional surfactants to stabilize the polymerization process. In the latter stage, HITENOL AR copolymerizes with the growing polymer and gets bonded to the surface of the polymer particles and creates a protective layer that stabilizes the polymer dispersion.

    HITENOL AR can be used with the same application and condition as conventional surfactants during emulsion polymerization. Furthermore, HITENOL AR can solve various disadvantages caused by free surfactants that remain in the aqueous phase, as the chemically bond to the polymer particle’s surface and there are little free surfactants left in the aqueouse phase.
