The Google Quantum team is working on building a quantum computer based on superconducting circuits. Our project brings together a huge range of technical disciplines including microwave circuit design, mixed signal electrical engineering, materials science, microfabrication, cryogenics, software, data analysis and quantum mechanics. Having recently demonstrated quantum supremacy [Nature 574, 505–510 (2019)], our sights are now set on near term applications and quantum error correction.
