QIAGEN is the manufacturer for QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus the world’s leading IGRA test.

Are you testing individuals who are at risk for tuberculosis?

People, in general, think of Tuberculosis (TB) as a disease of the past but it remains today one of the Top 10 causes of death worldwide. TB spreads through close contact, coughing and sneezing. An estimated 13 million people in the US are infected with latent TB. One person with active TB can infect up to 15 others and put many more at risk (1).

So, who should be tested? The latest guidelines from the US Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF) now include modern TB infection testing methods, like QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus (QFT-Plus), and recommend proactive screening for asymptomatic adults who are at risk for TB. In addition, the CDC has also updated its testing recommendations for the use of Interferon-Gamma Release Assays (IGRAs) for the majority of the US testing population (2).

Protect at-risk individuals in your community with an accurate TB blood test

QFT-Plus is a modern blood test to aid in the diagnosis of TB infection. The QFT-Plus test features innovative CD8 T cell technology to provide a more comprehensive picture of an individual’s immune response to TB. QFT-Plus is a more accurate test, producing fewer false-positive results than the tuberculin skin test (TST).
