Welcome to CSTE's Virtual Booth at APHA 2021!

Established in the 1950s, the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) is the member-driven professional home for applied epidemiologists working in state, local, territorial and tribal public health departments. CSTE members and staff work collaboratively to build and maintain effective relationships among federal, state and local health agencies. CSTE provides technical advice, assistance, and support on projects in Infectious Disease, Surveillance/Informatics, Occupational Health, Environmental Health, Substance Use, Mental Health, Disaster Epidemiology, and more to our partners and federal agencies, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

CSTE's Applied Epidemiology Fellowship (AEF) program provides a high-quality training experience for recent graduates in the field of applied epidemiology - https://cstefellows.wpengine.com/

CSTE’s Applied Public Health Informatics Fellowship provides a skills-based training opportunity for recent graduates in the growing field of public health informatics and data science.

CSTE’s Data Science Team Training Program is a yearlong training program for current public health professionals to develop their data science skills - https://www.cste.org/page/dstt

The CSTE Annual Conference connects more than 2,000 public health epidemiologists from across the country and will include workshops, plenary sessions with leaders in the field of public health, oral breakout sessions, roundtable discussions, and poster presentations - https://www.csteconference.org/.

CSTE also voices the needs of state and local health departments and shares the realities of the field with federal decision makers. CSTE's advocacy work includes regular engagement with Congress and the Executive Branch, federal and state partners, and public health partner organizations to ensure federal appropriators recognize and prioritize the public health needs in the states and territories.

Overall, CSTE's work is guided by its core mission and vision:
