Welcome attendees!

The School of Public Health at Georgia State University has grown dramatically—from a graduate certificate program with a handful of enrolled students in 2002, to a full complement of programs, including a Bachelor of Science in Public Health, a graduate certificate, an MPH degree in six concentrations, a Ph.D. degree in five public health areas of knowledge, and most recently a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH). In 2016, the School of Public Health acquired full school-level accreditation through The Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH).

The School of Public Health is one of the most diverse schools of public health in the nation—more than half of all students are minorities. Our students represent 36 U.S. states and 43 countries. Since 2006, the School of Public Health has been home to more than 90 Fulbright Scholars. The faculty and students are conducting cutting-edge research on the complex 21st century challenges cities across the globe face in public health.

Our work is often carried out in partnership with communities, their residents, and community-based organizations committed to health equity. The School’s metropolitan location is the ideal laboratory in which to test ways to address public health challenges in urban settings and for global populations.
