The Bioinformatics and Systems Medicine concentration focuses on understanding biological data and link them to clinical data to benefit patients.

McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics at UTHealth Houston, together with UTHealth Houston School of Public Health, offer two Dual Degree programs in Public Health Informatics: a Master of Science in Biomedical Informatics and a Master of Public Health (MS/MPH), and a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Informatics and a Master of Public Health (PhD/MPH). The programs provide an avenue for students to concurrently enroll in both degree programs so that duplication in course content is minimized, academic interaction is made more efficient, and the time and costs are reduced.

The Public Health Informatics dual-degree program will prepare students to integrate public health informatics knowledge and skills in their professional lives as practitioners and researchers.
