Foundation and ACNM to grow capacity and increase funding for scholarships, awards and grants as well as a growing portfolio of domestic and global strategic initiatives that educate, train, and empower midwives. With shared vision, resources, and partnerships, together we work to expand access to midwifery services and improve healthcare outcomes both domestically and worldwide.
Did you know over 900,000 more midwives are needed globally? Two-thirds of maternal and newborn deaths happen in places facing a severe shortage of midwives. The A.C.N.M. Foundation and ACNM collaborates with mission-aligned organizations to grow midwifery education programs, increase the numbers of midwives of color, improve health equity, and reduce preventable mortality. Midwives support birthing persons through pregnancy, childbirth and beyond - some of the most vulnerable yet empowering times in their lives.
