  • Health Literacy Specialist Certificate Program
IHA's HLSCP consists of 50 lessons across 7 critical health literacy domains. Each domain represents an online, self-paced course called a micro-credential. Complete all 7 micro-credentials to earn the Health Literacy Specialist (HLS) Certificate....

  • Since it's launch, IHA's Health Literacy Specialist Certificate Program has provided health literacy training to over 1,500 participants with hundreds of job titles, from scores of organizations - all united in their quest to acquire new knowledge and skills in health literacy.

Why? Because every participant knows that health literacy is a gateway to health equity, and that elevating health literacy in their organization will positively impact patient satisfaction, healthcare quality and financial outcomes.

    About IHA's Program

The program includes 50 lessons across seven critical health literacy domains. You'll earn micro-credentials in Communication, Community Engagement, Education, Ethics, Language, Culture & Diversity, Organizational Systems and Policies, and Public Health. All seven micro-credentials comprise the Health Literacy Specialist (HLS) Certificate Program. Learn more, watch a video and view FAQs here.

    How It Works

The HLS Certificate Program is delivered through an online Learning Management System (LMS) that enables self-paced learning. Participants have six months to complete each micro-credential and pass the associated exam. After completing all micro-credentials, you'll earn a Health Literacy Specialist Certificate, digital badge, and up to 49 continuing education contact hours (CECHs).
