Welcome to MCD Global Health!

MCD Global Health (MCD), a public health nonprofit and member of the National Network of Public Health Institutes, is recognized in the United States and internationally as a leader, innovator, and trusted partner in the design, implementation, and assessment of high-quality programs with the goal of improving the health and well-being of people around the world.

Being a unique, Maine-based nonprofit, MCD leverages its expertise and experience from more than 500 employees around the world. Our dedicated teams work in a broad range of health areas to reduce the burden of disease through prevention, promotion, diagnosis, and treatment and through workforce development, institutional strengthening, and the effective use of technology and data.

In 1966, we began our work in Maine and have since expanded to all 50 states, implementing health solutions in the realms of telehealth and technology, workforce development, staffing the public health workforce, community health workers, communicable and non-communicable diseases, and more. In 1977, we expanded into an international organization and have since worked in more than 50 countries in the areas of malaria, sanitation and hygiene, health systems strengthening, cervical cancer, and more.

MCD innovates, strengthens systems, and builds capacity to reach vulnerable, hard-to-reach, and rural communities and populations throughout the world. We work with country governments, various partners and funders, such as USAID, UNICEF, the Maine Center of Disease Control and Prevention, UNICEF, the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration, and local communities and organizations in order to successfully implement our strategies and attain our overarching goals.
